The Nairobi city is yet to support a new landmark along with world-class medium-density housing complex development for the US Department of the State. This development will be the first to be developed in Kenya thanks to the partnership by Gateway Real Estate Africa and Verdant Ventures. This was after a successful and similar project in Ethiopia.
This development is expected to create employment opportunities; 1,100 direct and 500 indirect job opportunities as per estimations.
Gateway Africa is a private company located in Mauritius. The real estate company specialises in turnkey construction of accommodation for multinational corporations and retailers to expand their territories across Africa.
Verdant Ventures is a real estate development company based in the US with its core aim being focusing on diplomatic housing in Africa.
In a joint statement by Greg Pearson, founding member and CEO of Gateway Africa, and Russ Murphy, CEO of Verdant Ventures said, “We are particularly proud to have the US Government as a major tenant. This project further cements the relationship between Gateway Africa and Verdant Ventures following our successful collaboration in the past. Kenya represents an important base for us from which we can build into the rest of East Africa, and we are excited about the real estate prospects in Nairobi.”
Tasked to design the development, Aevitas Group and Design Partnership Ltd, a local Kenyan architecture firm have collaborated to finish the task.
The completion date of the project is estimated to be April 2022.
“We will be making use of both local and international architects, mechanical and electrical consultants as well as civil and structural engineers. Services such as quantity surveying, project management, construction and other sub-contracting services will be sourced locally, as we have had success previously with local companies such as MaceYMR. Materials will be sourced locally as far as possible, with only specialist items being imported.
